Early in life

I grew up near the Pacific Ocean in southern Mexico. When I was 14, one of my brothers gave me a camera as a gift, it was a Pentax with a 35mm lens. It made me the happiest kid in the world. I immediately started taking pictures that were interesting to me. But when I developed them, some photos were dark or super bright;  because I was changing settings on my camera without knowing their effect. After many mistakes, I learned to take good photographs, and those images started to have a deep meaning. The photos I took when I was 14 began to have relevance, because they told me stories. That's how I fell in love with photography. I take photos because I like to tell stories, hoping to capture moments as they happen, with all their colors and sentiments, and if I am lucky, catch a little bit of poetry throughout life.
